Descrizione
Patchwork artwork made by Kenyan women on the project of the artist.
"Moncada’s work was oriented from the beginning
towards the study of colour in relation to light and
space. His early works were characterised by synthetic, chromatic forms laced with post-Cubist and abstract-geometric infuences. In the 1970s, this rigidity softened in the lightness of “transparencies” and at the beginning of the 1980s [...] colour came to be organised in small rhomboid tesserae often arranged in diagonal grids over which was laid a freer, more fuid and gestural colour that create a chromatic optical dynamism. The spirit of Balla’s Iridescent
interpenetrations reverberates in this work, opening to the «trend of the continuous: the margins become provisional and compositional centrality disappears for the predominance of escapes and fights, almost beyond the limit, open to existential becoming»" - AA.VV., "Missoni. L'arte e il colore"
