Descrizione
In these works, aniconism, the objection to the use of icons as religious creatures and features, is obfuscated as the steel sculpture is transformed into representative forms of the human body. Embodying calligraphic brushstrokes that mimic Arabic text but mean nothing, the ends of the sculptures extend into the clear contours of hands. These hands signify the ritual of the evil eye in Tunisia.
