Descrizione
Desiato was registered and active in the Chinese Communist Party. "In the middle of 1965, I moved back to Naples and met all sort of Neapolitan intellectuals who belonged to the Communist Party, and so forth. Along with a group of them, I made a trip through various countries in eastern Europe, we were sent by by the Communist Party itself. We met lots of Rumanian and Cezechoslovakian artosts, and artists in Moscow, but all of it was always stuff like socialist realism. When I got back to Naples, I did a photo of a dummy giving biirth to a soccer ball, and next to it two little girlsas the midwives. That photo has been published in various books. Written above it was the phrase, «We don't wan our children born Comminsts»! and then at the bottom, «We want our children who grow up into Communists». I turned it into a poster that I then exhibited at the Naples cell headquarters for the Communist Party. But they censured it." - Giuseppe Desiato, "autobiografia"
