Some are imported directly from pop culture, like Dracula or The Fantastic Four; other are brand new, Jeffrey, the little man with the crocodile-like head. Nearly all have their own name and, when it's missing, it's because they're figures with a very high narrative characterisation: the child, the soldier, the cat, the exotic animal.
