Il suono della pioggia quando cade in un unico punto
2016
© Serena Vestrucci
By recording the repetitive sound of a droplet falling and eliminating all the seconds of silence between each fall, Serena Vestrucci precisely cut the audio at the end of one sound and the beginning of the next. The process involved subtracting the silent seconds from the recording without altering its speed.
The essence of the work does not lie in accelerating the track but in removing its silent intervals. Consequently, as soon as one droplet hits the ground, the next one immediately follows in a continuous flow, concentrating the sound of rain in a single point.
The piece is presented as a loop of uninterrupted sounds, creating an endless auditory experience of falling water.
