Noise
2021
© Jacopo Mazzonelli
The artwork depicts the skeleton of a typewriter showcased as if it were a bas-relief. The artist has retained only the keys that form the word "noise." The word, as well as writing, is presented initially as pure sound before its meaning is considered.
Conceptually, everything ties back to music. The piece effectively conjures the concept of noise solely through words, all while maintaining silence. Here, words and writing are presented as pure sound rather than image. Similarly, the typewriter is displayed as a sculptural and rhythmic apparatus.
